Big Baby Big Girl

This weekend Faye and I finally went out to Woodbridge to see Bita and Bry. Their place is psychotic and exotic. We ended up at a bar near by drinking too much and eating fried food where there was live music. Just one guy and a guitar. It was actually really impressive and the guy had a great song selection. Even included Harvey Danger! He was my musical sole mate.

I've kind of become obsessed with the idea of rompers, jumpsuits, one piece wonders, etc. I got this flowery number on sale at target.com. Target.com actually will offer many items not found in every store and sale items that are online exclusives. You can find awesome deals if you scout around a bit! I paired the romper with a gold thick belt, purple tights, mochis, and basic white henley. The romper is a lot of fun to wear except when you have to go to the bathroom.
Thumbalina!!! Beats puts together a funky combo of pin striped A line skirt, patterned tank, and this awesome black and yellow multi-strand twisted necklace. Shoteroonees

Sweet Caroline fuck-ing-sluts. Faye in black lace is robotic and aquatic. Two things that don't seem they should go together but when combined create an explosion!
Can You Feel The Love Tonight?

I NEED to get a better picture of this sweater because its freaking amazing! Mickey Mouse is the next Hello Kitty.

The morning after a long stupendous night Faye and I were served a delicious breakfast and watched the Law and Order Marathon. I'm an avid fan of pretty much every crime drama, but only after two hours has Faye now been converted to an L&O lover! I was also fortunate enough to discover Beat's obsession with Ice-T and my own immense adoration for Jeff Goldblum! I think its all the stuttering. Yum
Check out them apples!..... I'm a freak.

Cat Scrath Fever

I woke up one morning this past week with an unexpected bloody wound on my arm. This isn't the first time this had happened. This is the result of Axl Rose on my life.

Grommit Vomit

How KILLER are these jeans??? Found the pic on JakandJil. I'm thinking this could def be a DIY project but I'm wary to mar the jeans I have. I might have to get a new pair so I can do this to an older pair. Maybe even use different studs or not even studs at all. What else could be used?

Dancing Elk and Waltzing Water

My brother and me (wasn't that a Nickelodeon show?) circa January 2008.

We had just gotten our hair cut at this fancy salon downtown and our Dad was determined to take as many pictures as possible. I think we look like a gaggle of pretentious assholes. Whatevs. I still really like this picture. This was right before the three of use went bar hopping in Georgetown ordering drinks and fried appetizers at every possible bar on M Street. It was a really good day :)

Excuse Me Sir, You're Dressed As A Lady

Last night BGav and I went to the circus at the Verizon Center downtown. It was actually really cool! I mean besides the 10,000 little children with 10,000 twirly light up toys, and mean woman who kicked me out of line for tickets, and the really annoying ringmaster side kick guy, the circus was great! It had been too long since I had see BGav and I think I kind of guilt tripped him into going with me, but we had fun! Is it really bad that I've kind of gotten into tight rolling my pants? I mean its totally 80s and than everyone can see what socks I'm wearing, but I kind of dig it. BGav making me chicken tortellini at his awesome new apartment. I'm still really jealous, obvs. But I guess if he wasn't making me dinner and my Mom wasn't making me dinner, I would have to figure out how to cook. So maybe its best I stay where people can feed me?

Pardon my camera for the following shit-tastic pictures. Rebel Riders! At one point they put 7 in that tiny cage!

The pink twirly light want the little girl in front of us had running probs the entire time. I got used to it. BGav almost got to the point of death threats.Did you know the circus sells beer?! Don't worry, no one would ever get drunk off of it. Its horribly warm and you drink it through a straw. BGav's face perfectly describes our feelings toward circus beer.

Tigers!Elephants!Something cool I just can't remember what it was!

So if you're in the mood for being completely childish are a decent price ($15 for tickets, $10 with coupon) I would totally recommend the circus! Just not the circus beer.

Welcome To Furngully

The Internet was down in my house for a week so I FINALLY have a chance to post stuff from a week ago. I've had this shirt since last summer but for some reason I have only recently become obsessed with it and pretty much wear it for days at a time.
The shirt isn't even anything special. I bought it in Key West last summer at this bar called the "Hogs Breath Saloon". On the back it says "Hogs breath is better than no breath at all." I think I like the ugly drooling hog head on it. Paired with my red "Mr. Rogers" cardigan, patterned tank, Express blue jeans, delias ballet flats, and a long necklace that I think I bought at like American Eagle 6 years ago.

Saturday night Faye's sister Jax was in town! Whenever Jax is back from VCU I'm usually dying to hang out with her because hanging out with Faye AND Jax at the same time is like seeing Siamese twins that have been separated for the first time.
Still trying to salvage my black leggings but I really need to throw them out. They are basically tattered rags I try to disguise at real pants. I just love them and they are so comfortable and easy to dress with. I'll miss them. Speaking of leggings: Does anyone know if the American Apparel leggings are worth the price? I've heard good things, but they are so damn expensive for freaking leggings. My shredded leggings are paired with Old Navy tunic, AE half sleeve plaid button up, the Doc Martins I always want to wear but rarely do, and the gold jewelry I found at the flea market (see: I've Got Fleas). I think I've spent more time with that gold cuff on than off even though its so thick it makes me wrist completely useless. I feel immobility is worth it.
Here's some more fun from that night:
Faye and Jax. Faye has this ability to layer in amazing ways. I'm a fan of the mix of hooded zips with big folded collared coats and the play on proportions. And Jax is just awesome at never wearing real pants. I'm digging the bright pink spandex.
Beats and BryBry (Can I call him BryBry? I mean we have hung out like 3 times now. That's long enough for nicknames right?) I like Beats in glasses :)
This Tuesday was St.Patrick's Day and with nothing better to do Faye and I hit Auld Shebeen. Being its one of very few Irish bars in the area, there was actually a line outside! I was so confused. I've never had to wait to get inside Aulds. We ended up only having to wait like 10 minutes but it was very bizarre.
We got randomly got free clover light up things. Mine was sooo huge I actually found it really embarrassing and annoying so I spent 5 minutes trying to turn it off. This is what Faye did with hers. And then she did this with Carlton:

It was an awesome St. Patrick's Day! I hope you all had an equally entertaining SPD!

Photo Phun

I just found this picture in an old email my Mom sent me. The dog was one of the fosters named Jay Jae (that's really how it was spelled) and me sleeping. We're in like the exact same position! I'm pretty sure this was Halloween night. I was dressed as a bandit but clearly not going anywhere. Jay Jae was eventually adopted by a retired NFLer in Florida with acres of land for him to roam.

Whats the word for doing it with a dead guy?

Been humming this for a few hours...

I Want You To Want Me

I did some faux shopping today in which I basically scanned websites and pretended I have an unlimited supply of money trees and don't have midget sized limbs which would wear allow me to wear all these things I want to buy with my faux bills. I spent a large part of my time at modcloth.com. I have come to L.O.V.E. modcloth... although I have yet to purchased anything. All the items are vintage inspired, if not the real deal, and there is a limited supply of each item. I think this adds some authenticity to the pieces because they are not being mass produced by children in a Chinese factory. Yet, the limited supply also adds a sense of urgency. What if they don't have your size? What if they are completely sold out? What if there is only one left and someone else buys it!? Modcloth can definitely lead to impulse purchases. I have successfully dodged the urges so far, but may not be able to hold out much longer. Especially after checking out their stuff today, I have found long lost loves and new found treasures.

I have a thing for big collars and unnecessary buttons. This dress is like opposite day. Its a summer dress (knee length and sleeveless) but it has a cozy folding collar. I love it.

I think this shirt is funny. Its basically a cheaper/comical version if the Christopher Kane baboon dress:

Yet, I'm kind of smitten for this dress. I'm wild for how abrasive it is.

These high rise shorts would look killer with a plaid button up tucked in or tied and a pair of flats or some wedges. Layered necklaces and bangles to top off the whole look. Preshola!

Without even trying I accumulated about 7 pairs of shoes in the shopping cart of my brain.

I really love how shoe styles have really progressed in the past year. New shapes and styles, cutouts and wedges, chunky heels and talon heels. I like where all this is going. They're sandals... but not. And to make things more confusing, they have a hidden wedge heel. I like shoes that make you question their existence.
And these beauties! I have gazed longingly at these little babies for months now. I die over the curved chunky heel, the deep blood red color, and the pop of the bright bow at the toe.
Modcloth.com is definitely worth some browsing time but, like I said before, beware of its lure. Because the pieces are limited they can be pricey, but if you're really thinking of purchasing something I think the originality of the items and the limited supply make the price worth it. They've also got accessories, coats, pants, everything other stores offer but with a retro edge. Check it out for rare goods!

Ugly Sexy

I have this problem with people who are soo unattractive that I find them sexy. I know its really weird. I mean, I do find normal sexy people normally sexy, but ugly sexy people add edge to the appeal. For example:
Travis McCoy from Gym Class Hero. I mean look at him. Obvs hes got a sense of humor and hes musically inclined if you know his music, but he isn't the most attractive man out there. Yet... I find him beautiful. He even looks cute in his mugshot!:
He was arrested for drug possession, but I can get past that. He even dated Katy Perry (fashion goddess) for years. That makes me love him even more.
Another example: Lil' Wayne
Clearly hes got a great bod, but have you ever taken a good look at his face? Mans got a MUG
I'm a HUGE fan of tattoos, but not necessarily on your face. There are like 6 tattoos on his face! (You can't really see the ones on his EYELIDS. yeah that's right eyelids) But you can't deny the man's talent. He is a contributor to one of my fave songs of the moment (see: Miss Kerri Baby). I prefer to see him like this:

Shaded and wearing pink. :)
And finally:

Sorria! Had to do it! But in all seriousness, I realize I have a problem. Or maybe it isn't a problem? Maybe its a gift that those who are considered "ugly" be others I find "hot and spicy." I've been ridiculed and criticized in the past but I proudly admit: I'm an ugly sexy lover!
Thank You

AgyDooDoo

Agyness Deyn. If you haven't heard of her, you soon will. Shes big news and I'm falling fast for her. I noticed some buzz surrounding her in different blogs and magazines a few months ago and was immediately smitten-ized with her when I saw this picture on Perez Hilton. (Ignore the "Diva" comment, you know I would never say that.)

I couldn't deny anyone who stepped out to a premier event dressed like that. I find that model's personal style is way cooler and eclectic than the things they wear on the runway. Not to discredit designer's amazing creations, but its not wearable for a normal person. Model's personal style tends to be pretty edgy, forward, and eye catching. Anyways, long story short: I heart Agy very strongly.

Here are some more pics I found of my new love: Agyness Deyn.

Shes so versatile with a hint of androgyny.

I've Got Fleas

The Big DC Flea Market came through Chantilly this weekend and I jumped at the chance. In an hour and a half I only conquered 1/4 of the stalls, found some of the greatest treasures ever, only spent $40, and found myself spent. Who knew dodging oldies, haggling with sellers, and gazing longingly into glass cases could be so overwhelming. In any case, the flea market was freaking amazing!
I don't know why I'm covering my ears, it seemed natural?
Target cardigan, Old Navy dress, Loft tank, and an assortment of jewelry. Oh, and of course my fave readers.I also took out my favorite sandals for the occasion for their first wear of 2009. I love these sandals. I think I found them in Lynchburg for $7.
Here are the treasures I found:
An old lady had this military inspired jacket with a matching skirt along with hundreds of other KILLER vintage clothes. I didn't even think it would fit me but after staring at it for 10 minutes I couldn't part with it even if it was too small. In fact, it does fit... kind of. I just can't button it up, but that doesn't mean I can't still wear it! I'm so pumped.
Was instantly smitten with this gold and amber cuff. If you look closely there is a moth on it, the seller tried to convince me its a butterfly, but it clearly isn't. I like that its a beautiful piece of jewelry with this ugly bug on it.

And after spending too much time in one stall I finally decided on this necklace after the seller said she would sell it to me for $4. WTF?! I had originally wanted this really creepy long white steel necklace with this dog on it. It was weird, but funky. Sadly, the creepy dog was really expensive for some reason and I wasn't willing to pay that much to freak people out.
And to make to make today even better, when I got home I had a package waiting!
Although its used, its still magical. So I think I'm going to spend the rest of the day lounging in the gorg 70 degree weather and reading about MK&A. Its been a good day...
I hope you all have a great day and a great tomorrow.
