Bryce Canyon was absolutely breath taking. I recall even turning the corner on a path, getting my first glimpse of the canyon, and proclaiming "WOW!" to then realize there wasn't anyone around me. I had no idea what to expect, but I have a cousin named after the canyon, so I figured it better be pretty freaking fantastic. And it most certainly was.
The canyon almost looks like some wild castle that was formed naturally. And the deep orange and red colors of the rock formations only add to the supernatural feeling of the canyon.
The park was actually closed expect the 2 miles we traveled on due to a growing forest fire. Apparently it had started out as a prescribed fire and after 2 weeks got out of control when the winds picked up. The smoke was almost a brown color. Although it was a dangerous thing, it was neat to see. I had never seen a forest fire before. Seeing the billows of smoke travel through the sky was eerie.
I don't know what the rest of Bryce Canyon looks like but I can't even begin to imagine what could be cooler than what we saw in those short 2 miles.
After Bryce we booked it to Vegas! Both of us were chatting non stop in the car because of our excitement. I didn't even take a nap! We rolled in just as the sun was going down and hit the strip soon afterwards!
The casino in our hotel, Ballys.
I had just won $20.00! I had never gambled ever before so I stuck to slots the whole time while Jason prowled for cheap poker tables.
Moneys!
Louise instructed me to find a slot machine called "Kitty Glitter". I searched all night in several different casinos and finally found it in the MGM. Precious kittens.
This is when we both realized Jason was drunk on free drinks and cold medicine so I should start sobering up. Haha
The streets are littered with porn and hookers.
This dude played "Let it be" on his harmonica for me and told me all about being an editorial photographer in New York City. Should I believe him or was he crazy and homeless? The child in me would love to believe him.
So Vegas was pretty freaking cool and it didn't hurt that Jason and I both won some money. We both immediately blew it on more gambling, but I still like to think I was up $30 at one point. Not bad for never having gambled! The next day we hit Fremont Street and tried not to lose the rest of our money...
