This Is Only Stage One

This being my first post, I feel I should explain my purpose for entering the blog-o-sphere. I've never been a blogger, for quite a while I didn't even know what blogging was. But after being introduced to the wide world of fashion blogs by my dear friend KC, I've been totally addicted. So I decided its my turn. I have an incredibly unhealthy obsession with fashion from watching far too many reruns of Project Runway to trying out new trends that usually make me look like a crazy bag lady or a cowgirl. But, with risk comes reward and I have so much fun dressing up in these ridiculous costumes. So basically this blog is my medium for fashion expression. And, you know, I'll probably slip in some stuff about my life. Hopefully I will soon have this thing up and running to sell some of my oldies but goodies and display some of my own creations I'm working on. I guess thats all there is to say for now.

Heres some highlights from this weekend:

Friday night at Auld Shebeen in Fairfax.

Urban Outfitters tee, H&M tank and vest, Mom's shirt worn as skirt (still can't tell if that was a good idea or not), Target pink tights, and brown faux leather boots from some website. I also borrowed my Mom's awesome large pearl necklace and paired it with a self made feathered headband.

Faye got a new coat: I count 10 buttons.

On Saturday after taking a whopping 3 hour nap I went to Jimmy's Old Town Tavern with my parents. Check out http://www.jimmystavern.com/ its a great dive bar with awesome food.
The adorable french fries that came with my kids meal! So cute I could barely scarf them up.

An outfit my Mom didn't consider a costume! Success! Old Navy tube top over a Target patterned tank and black ruffled cardigan with Express blue jeans.

Saturday night BGav had a house warming party at his new place in Arlington. It was a Mardi Gras theme and true to form, BGav had decked the place out with beads and even had his Mom's famous dip! It had been far too long since I had seen BGav and eaten that dip.

Billabong dress, Target corset belt, cropped white sweater worn under the dress, black stockings, and my stunner purple ankle booties.

And becuase it was Mardi Gras I whipped out this other feathered head band I made myself. Flapper inspired I guess.

Heres some more fun from the night - -

I love the mix of patterns. I would wear the coat inside out everyday if I could.

Applying for jobs? Notice the snaz ear warmers.

I'm all about this picture of Faye. She's my drunken muse.
